Your videos never leave your phone. Storyboards are the one feature that sends anything, and only when you use them.

The short version

There is no account, no tracking and no analytics. Your recordings are analyzed and edited on your device and never uploaded. If you use storyboards, your idea text and an optional props photo are sent to write the storyboard and aren't kept. If you join the waitlist, we store your email address.

The app

Unhanded isn't released yet. When it is, everything it does, including recording, hand detection, pose picking and export, runs on your iPhone or iPad. Your footage is not uploaded, and the app doesn't need an account.

Storyboards (Unhanded Plus)

When you ask for a storyboard, the app sends your idea text, the length you chose, and a props photo if you add one to our server, which passes them to Anthropic's Claude to write the storyboard. Neither we nor the app keep that text or photo after the storyboard is returned; Anthropic handles API data under its own commercial terms. The app asks before your first storyboard.

To enforce the monthly storyboard allowance, our server stores a count per subscription, keyed by the anonymous transaction ID Apple issues for your subscription. It isn't linked to your name or Apple ID.

This website

  • No analytics, no tracking and no third-party scripts. The site sets no cookies of its own.
  • Fonts are served from this site, not from Google.
  • The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which, like any host, handles requests and may keep short-term technical logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store:

  • your email address,
  • the time you signed up, and
  • which page of this site you signed up from.

We use it for one thing: to email you when Unhanded launches. We don't sell it or share it. To limit abuse, a one-way hash of your IP address is kept for up to an hour as a sign-up counter. The raw address isn't stored.

Removing your email

Write to [email protected] from the address you signed up with and we'll delete it.
